Good editorial by Simon Jenkins in the Evening Standard today, talking about the wake of the July 7 bombings. A police spokesman has admitted that over 10% of Scotland Yard's force have been moved to the terrorist case, and work on other ongoing crime investigations has "slowed to a trickle". The Immigration Minister pays a lip-service visit to Asian communities. Meanwhile, police randomly search dark skinned youths and patrol the streets with automatic weapons, looking bored but probably more than a little trigger-happy.
Good session of Ars Magica tonight. As A's pizza account with Tops Pizza reached the handsome sum of £1000, our pizzas and Cokes were free! And we had our first combat, with some villagers from the ominous Black Village who had kidnapped a faery girl's sister we encountered walking through the woods (no sign of red bonnet that we could see)! Next week - who or what is the terrible entity coming out of the forest?!

I have a suspicion you're actually referring to Hazel Blears... she's not Immigration Minister. She's Communities, I think.
